I've had dinner here aprox 5 times. The food is not consistent at all. Poor quality sausage. I thought the sausage was Jewel quality. Not a good flavor on a alleged Italian resturant. The old Daves was good this location needs more training and better product sourcing.

Dave's Italian Kitchen provided the absolutely perfect, comfortable atmosphere when I sat down with my partner recently for a detailed discussion regarding our shared apartment and food finances. The warm, inviting ambiance made navigating a serious conversation so much more pleasant. We shared a phenomenal spread of hearty, homemade pasta and incredibly fresh garlic bread that tasted just like traditional comfort food. The portions are remarkably generous for the very reasonable prices, and the waitstaff was perfectly attentive without being intrusive. I highly recommend this wonderful spot for both a casual weeknight dinner or when you need a quiet, cozy place for a long, meaningful conversation over some truly excellent Italian food!

Wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant located near Northwestern University. The space is small with tables in clise proximity. They serve a wide array of pizzas, pasts, salad, and even a wonderful Tiramisu. I ordered Chicken Parmegiana with a side salad. It was superb! Portion was quite generous, sauce very flavorful, chicken nicely prepared. I slso order a glass of the Abruzzo. For dessert, I ordered Tiramisu that was delicious. Staff was attentive and very engaged. Kitchen was quick. If you are looking for family-run, small restaurant serving solid Italian pasta, pizza, calzones and other Italian dishes. This is the place to go when in Evanston.

I tried this place based on the positive reviews. I ordered delivery from the restaurant, which was great. It was brought to me in less than 10 minutes. But I found the meal very disappointing. I ordered pasta aglio e olio with shrimp. The noodles were very dry. There wasn’t really any kind of sauce. I doctored them a bit with my own olive oil. And the shrimp was overcooked. It also would have been nice to have some butter provided with the bread. Maybe a different dish would be better, but I don’t plan to try again.

We shared the lasagne con amore and a pan pizza. Both were fabulous! Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. Our waitress Olivia was knowledgeable and delightful!
